Rail Transit

The requirements for machining tools in the rail transit industry are mainly reflected in material properties, structural design, machining accuracy, and intelligent adaptation. Specifically, they can be divided into the following technical points:

1. Materials and Coating Technology

Hard alloy matrix: High cobalt content or ultrafine grain matrix (such as SNC805, SPC810 grades) should be used to ensure a red hardness of over 900 ℃ and a lifespan 5-8 times longer than traditional cutting tools.

Composite coating: CVD coating (such as PG8000 series) improves wear resistance by optimizing the Al ₂ O Ⅲ crystal structure, while PVD coating uses HiPIMS technology to improve surface smoothness and reduce chip deposits.

Superhard materials: Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting tools are used for burr free cutting of carbon fiber composite materials, while polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) is suitable for processing quenched steel.

2. Design of specialized cutting tools

Track surface processing: Special geometric blades (such as KLNE series) are required to match different arc radii, and the double-sided 16 blade design (such as R220.48-8160-09-12S blade body) is used to improve economy.

Intermittent cutting optimization: For brake discs and other parts, a heat-resistant matrix (such as RW104U grade) and high-speed positioning pin structure are used to ensure the stability of intermittent machining.

1、 Track and switch processing tools

Vertical rail blades: Kent Company has developed KP251G, KP402U and other grades of blades for rail, switch, frog and other components. Through the KLNE series blades (such as KLNE151207, KLNE191406), different materials, allowances and machine parameters can be matched, significantly improving machining efficiency.

Seco: Using double-sided king blades (such as ONMU090520ANTN-M14) and R220.48-8160-09-12S blade bodies, it achieves light and agile cutting in rough machining of turnouts, with a lifespan of up to 20 pieces per blade and minimal tool marks, reducing subsequent grinding processes

2、 Wheel and hub processing tools

Special grades for train wheels: Kent has launched the KP155U (rough machining), RW104U (semi precision machining), and RW054U (precision machining) series, which meet the contour accuracy requirements of high-speed wheels through high-strength substrate and Al2O3 coating technology.

CNC machine clamping tool: Magang Group designs fish belly type machine clamping tools to solve the problem of vibration patterns in the processing of radial plates, and adopts a one-time forming process to eliminate the cutting marks at the rim and throat, significantly improving the form and position tolerances.
